How to curl your lashes to perfection

It’s known as the scariest-looking beauty tool out there. Slightly resembling a tool of torture, eyelash curlers are a god-send. With a few presses using this one simple tool, your lashes can go from 0-100.

A good mascara definitely does a lot of the work, but it needs that perfect canvas for it to work perfectly. While we aren’t all blessed with naturally long and fluttery lashes, an eyelash curler allows us to fake it till we make it!

While they may be miracle workers, they’re also a little tricky to operate. There are countless mistakes you can make, and I’m here to help you avoid them! With this simple list of Do’s and Don’ts –you can finally get the most out of your eyelash curlers and avoid any scary mishaps (lash-less eyes are not cute!)

DON’T- Skimp When Purchasing

The reason it can be hard to trust a cheaper brand with curlers is that the cheaper versions are more prone to pinch your eyelids or to grab your lashes- it’s just risky business!

DO- Give Them Some TLC

Regularly clean the curling pad after every use, and make sure to change the pad every once in a while- most curlers come with a set of backup pads!

DON’T- Apply Mascara First

Applying mascara first can only lead to two things; harming your lashes and ending up with a right angle curl

DO- Curl Clean Lashes

You want to avoid ruining your curler and having any lashes get caught in it.

DON’T- Press Too Hard

Pressing down harder is not giving your lashes any longevity and it’s not going to make any difference to if you just used the tool the right way. What is the right way? Glad you asked….

DO- Walk It Out

What this means is that you begin with the curler right at the roots of your lashes and press down. Instead of spending ages just pressing down at the root, you begin to pump and move up throughout the lashes until you reach the ends.

DO- Turn The Curler Inwards

This is hard to understand, you basically want to be resting the curler on your lid and resting it in your crease. This method will lift your lashes more than anything and get the most dramatic curl possible!
