Behind the Scenes: How were DIOR floral prints created?
Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Spring 2020 collection for Dior is dedicated to Christian Dior’s little sister.
The creative director of the French fashion house prepared the spring-summer collection together with a landscape design studio.
Atelier Coloco created floral embroideries for tops of transparent fabric and tulle.
In addition to Christian Dior’s well-known love of flowers, the new collection was also influenced by the story of the great sister of the great couturier, Catherine, who was a member of the French resistance during World War II and was lit by gardening. Her passion is reflected in the collection in the form of dresses and skirts, straw sweaters and “work overalls”.
