Pantone Institute experts have announced the color of 2020: Classic Blue. “Color expresses how we feel and this particular blue tone captures our desire for peace, reliability, stability and perseverance as we enter the new decade. We want to feel safe and welcomed,” says Lori Presman, Pantone vice president.
The new tone comes with the message “buy less, buy quality”, talking about sustainability and classics, reflecting on changing our perception of the environment and focusing on color palettes that will not go out of style in the next few seasons.
The color is also inclusive: “Blue tones are the most preferred, anyone can recognize them.” Quite expectedly, the color in question is heavily featured in design collections for the new spring and summer season, and street style trends capture the trend even before the presentation in question.
